Gutman says he’s been mulling the change for months<\/p>\n

Philip Gutman resigned from his position as vice president of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing,\u00a0The Real Deal<\/em>\u00a0has learned.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Gutman tendered his resignation on Monday but has yet to determine where he\u2019s headed next, he told\u00a0TRD<\/em>. He\u2019s been with Elliman for about three-and-a-half years, where he has led the firm\u2019s sales and marketing in Florida, a portfolio that totals more than $3 billion. Gutman told\u00a0TRD<\/em>\u00a0he\u2019s been mulling a change several times over\u00a0the past few months and is \u201cmore excited about the future.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSelling has always been in my blood, but obviously I have a lot of knowledge in the new development space,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Jay Parker, CEO of Elliman Florida, said via a spokesperson that he wishes\u00a0Gutman the best of luck. Parker could not immediately be reached for further comment.<\/p>\n Leaving Elliman wasn\u2019t\u00a0about the market slowdown, but a personal choice, Gutman\u00a0said.\u00a0He\u00a0was most recently tasked with leading sales at the\u00a0Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach, which is being developed by Lionheart Capital. Presales stood at about 65 percent when Elliman took over last summer and as of\u00a0late March<\/a>\u00a0were at \u201cmore than 65 percent,\u201d Gutman said at the time.<\/p>\n Elliman is also handling the exclusive sales and marketing for Monad Terrace in South Beach,\u00a0One River Point<\/a>\u00a0along the Miami River, and Eighty Seven Park in North Beach.<\/p>\n Gutman marks the fourth\u00a0sales and marketing executive to leave Elliman over the past year. In 2015, Horacio\u00a0LeDon resigned<\/a>\u00a0from his position as\u00a0president of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing for Florida and California, but stayed on as an agent until he\u00a0joined Fortune International Realty<\/a>\u00a0in an advisory role in November. And last summer, Susie Glass, former executive vice president of sales and marketing at Elliman, left to go to Fortune International Group in a similar role. All three joined in 2013.<\/p>\n About two months ago, ex-chief marketing officer\u00a0Andrea Greenberg left<\/a>\u00a0Elliman after only three months. Sources, citing a clash in cultures,\u00a0told\u00a0TRD<\/em>\u00a0it was Elliman\u2019s decision to end her short tenure.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
